Volunteers are the backbone of our Foundation.
The SBTF, all-volunteer, Board of Directors, consists of passionate people, like yourselves who are committed to making a difference through their gift of time and talent. Our small, but mighty group of individuals, work diligently to achieve the Foundations’ goals; among which is finding a cure for brain tumors through the funding of invaluable brain tumor research projects.
According to Wikipedia, “volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity and is intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. In return, this activity produces a feeling of self-worth and respect; however, there is no financial gain. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development, socialization, and fun. “
Through the spirit of volunteerism, comes the fulfillment of paying-it-forward, and truly making a marked difference. If you can assist throughout the year, or wish to be among the 100 volunteers who assist on Race Day, we’d love to hear from you.
Additionally, if you belong to, or know of, any service groups that may have an interest in supporting our cause through the donation of time, please be sure to let us know. The Young Mens’ Service League, and specifically the NE Chapter of Atlanta, has been an invaluable supporter of the SBTF for the past several years, and we are extremely grateful of their service to, and affiliation with, our Foundation.
Get involved and help us to honor those who are touched by brain tumors through your involvement as an SBTF volunteer.
