- SBTF's Ninth annual Race for Research is scheduled for Saturday July 12, 2008 at Atlantic Station. Please click here to register online and/or form a team.

-Strands of Hope: The knitters have raised over $18,237 to date for brain tumor research with a new goal of $20,000! Sarah, who initiated the project, has been selected as one of the 2008 11Alive Kids Who Care winners!

- The United States House of Representatives declares May Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Read more on the North American Brain Tumor Coalition website.

- In conjunction with Brain Tumor Action Week, Emory Healthcare held its annual Brain Tumor Mini-Symposium for patients and family on May 8, 2008. Approximately 85 participants attended. Click here to download a copy of the program (MS Word 54KB).

-The Scrapbooking Day which was held to benefit the SBTF on April 19, 2008 raised $1,000 for brain tumor research! Our sincere thanks go to all who participated in this successful fundraising event.

- SBTF is in the news on Atlanta Jewish Times Online. The article states "It's a worthy cause that the JT staff supports in memory of Bob Menaker, and we encourage the Atlanta Jewish Community to get involved." Sadly, the JT former editor Bob Menaker lost his battle with brain tumor in 2006.

- SBTF is a supporter of the 2008 International Brain Tumour Awareness Week and the Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours sponsored by the International Brain Tumour Alliance. See http://www.theibta.org for details. SBTF donated miles from the 2007 Race for Research to the 2007 Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours.

- The Atlanta Sharing Hope Brain Tumor Patient/Survivor/Family Meeting co-sponsored by the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA), the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children (BTFC), and the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation (SBTF) was held February 29 through March 1, 2008. Some 150 individuals participated in this informative meeting.

- The presentation of the 2007 SBTF Brain Tumor Research Grants totaling $270,000 was held on Wednesday January 30, 2008 at the Emory University Winship Cancer Institute, Room C5012. Click here for details of the awards.

 

-The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children's 9th ANNUAL WILLIAM'S RUN & WALK was held Saturday, November 3, 2007.

- Brain tumor awareness bracelets are available from two brain tumor organizations.
