Strands of Hope
Hand-knit scarves help in the fight against brain tumor

A group of knitters are donating to Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation all the proceeds from scarves that they create in various colors and sizes. For further information on ordering one of the scarves and being part of this effort in the fight against brain tumor, write strandsofhope@yahoo.com or visit www.freewebs.com/strandsofhopescarves.

SBTF wishes to express appreciation to the Strands of Hope Knitters who have raised an incredible $18,237 thus far through their project. They have far exceeded both their original goal of raising $2,000 and their most recent goal of $10,000! A new goal of $20,000 has now been set. The knitters are procuring the materials themselves and donating all of the income from the sale of the beautiful hand-knit scarves to SBTF. Sarah, the originator or the project, was honored at the presentation of the 2007 SBTF research grants.

Because of fundraising efforts such as the Strands of Hope, Race for Research, and individual contributions, SBTF was able to award $270,000 in brain tumor research grants on January 30, 2008!
